Day 1 (Tuesday 8 July)
We started out leaving the rainy Netherlands with me driving. Since I'm only 17 I'm only alowed to drive in NL, so that is what I did. I was travelling with my mom and one of my friends.
So this is what happens when I get bored. I take a picture and start colouring. My friend was obviously very happy with this picture. Oh, and don't worry, I wasn't driving here.
After a long drive we decided to stop and search for a hotel. We found this hotel called Sonne Hotel in Reiden (Switzerland). The people were very nice here and very chatty. They didn't really speak English though, but basic German is enough to properly understand everything.
The portion sizes were huge! Or maybe not huge, but standard German/Swiss portion sizes. I coudn't finish my plate.
The rest of the evening my friend and I watched "De Lama's" (The Dutch version of "Whose line is it anyway?") and after dying of laughter we went to bed.
Day 2 (Wednesday 9 July)
After a very simple breakfast (there weren't a lot of options in the hotel), we drove on.
The views in Switzerland are absolutely beautiful!
Lots of mountains! |
And tunnels! |
Day 3 (Thursday 10 July)
We were finally settled in on day 3 and we gave ourselves a day to relax and calm down from the long dre. Here is a better view of the little house we stayed in. As you can see it's pretty dark inside, that's because there were only 3(!) windows in the entire house, quite a bummer..
We decided to get some ice cream. I got Bubblegum and white chocolate flavour, which was not a smart choice for my sugar sensitive stomach :P
We also inflated our turtle. His name is Pieter-Willem.
Later that day we decided that we wanted to go shopping. We went to Grand d'Affi, where we found these cool snacks. Ice tea and Nutella, what more could I wish for? I didn't like the ice tea though as you can probably tell by the next picture:
Nope, don't recommend it...
Day 4 (Friday July 11th)
We decided to go to Parco Sigurta Giardino today. The leaflet looked rather boring, but from what I've heard it was going to be fun, and spoiler alert: It was.
The parc's leaftlet didn't give much information, but it did say that there were lots of beautiful flowers. I couldn't stop taking pictures of them, but for the sake of this post I'll only show a couple.
There were many ponts with beautiful waterlilies in them.
The park was taken care of very well. Clean paths, well trimmed trees and alga free ponts.
They might look like normal ducks, but they were absolutely huge! They were twice as big as the ducks we have back in the Netherlands. All the animals, on the small farm they had in the parc, were really large. The donkey was the size of a horse. Like they fed them steroids or something.
Take them pictures! |
The Koi fish were very cute and used to being fed, so they kept swiming next to us.
See the orange tone in my hair? That's going to be almost gone at the end of the vacation ;)
Feeding baby goats!
Awkward outfit photo!(Top, skirt & shoes - Primark / Bag - Forever 21 / Glasses - Ray Ban / Watch - The One)
This was the only bummer of the parc. They call this Castello, but I don't really see what's so castle-like about this small building. Luckily there was a labyrinth which made everything better.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee |
It was the perfect hill to do this...
Day 5 (Saturday July 12th)
On saturday we went to Parco Natura Viva (the zoo). We started out with the safari, which was awesome. You are allowed to use your own car to drive between selected animals, like giraffes.
omnomnom |
You'll see a lot of bad grammar in Italy. |
It's so fluffehhhhh! |
I had an entire photoshoot with this peacock and named him Jeroen.
This is now my Facebook profile pic, such fun!
This is the only zoo in the world where Rhinos and hippos live togheter.
Quick OOTD (Glasses- H&M / Shirt - Unknown / Skirt - Primark / Shoes - Bullboxer) |
In the evening we had a thunderstorm with hail. And as you can see, the ditches are almost overflowing with water.
Day 6 (Sunday July 13th)
Today we decided to go shopping. I bought a jacket and a face mask from KIKO. When we came back at the house we decided to try it out and take lots of pictures of it..
Her face really reminds me of grumpy cat...
Feeling like a child on the swings!
