Clinique High Impact Mascara

In my 18 years of existence I have tried a lot of different mascaras. Cheap ones, expensive ones, dramatic ones, super mega false eyelash ones, but no matter how many mascaras I tried, I always came back to this one. Cliniques High Impact mascara. I don't have a lot of products that keep me coming back, but this one is definitely a holy grail and a product that will surely stay in my stash forever. Here's why.

Packaging is obviously not the most important thing when it comes to product quality, however it does help with dragging people over the line when buying new products. You first see the adorable, spring-like packaging Clinique puts on their products and then when you open it, you get the sleek, minimalistic packaging of the mascara itself. And don't forget the subtle glitter on the casing. Glitter is always a winner!

The brush and formula are the most important factors when it comes to mascara. The High Impact mascara has a lightweight and non-clumpy consistancy, which goes perfectly well with the straight hairy bristles of the brush. I think that this formula wouldn't go very well with synthetic rubber brushes, hence the fact that the formula is so liquidy that it would simply slide of the brush. To sum up, an ideal combination of formula and brush.

So now for the real test. How does it look on my lashes? As you can tell from the pictures, the mascara is very light, it doesn't clump and it gives a jet black coverage.  Clinique claimes that this mascara is going to give you a dramatic effect, however it looks like a more natural everyday kinda mascara. The mascara gives a nice fresh look on me, without being overly dramatic.

Overall, this is the best mascara I've tried to date. It's light, doesn't clump en truly is jet black. If, however, you want a more dramatic, extreme look, this mascara might not be the right one for you. Also if you are looking for a budget mascara, this one might not be the one coming in at €18,50. Even so I am a definite fan of this mascara and it will stay in my stash for a very long time!

What is your favourite mascara?

Love, Vivian
