Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation & Pressed Powder

A foundation with a natural and breathable texture, that perfectly fits your skin and does not look like you're wearing a mask. That is what Maybelline promises us with their Fit Me foundation, concealer and powder line. Look natural and fresh, with the Fit Me line that perfectly fits your skin. Well, let's see if I agree with Maybelline in this capacious review.

I got the Fit Me foundation and pressed powder in the shade 105 and the concealer in 10. Sadly, I couldn't get the concealer in 5 because it was sold out, however I did want to test it for you guys so I got it in a darker shade.

The concealer has a very creamy, but light consistancy. Creamy concealers have a tendancy to crease less than dryer-formulated concealers. This one is no exeption. I had very few issues with creasnig with the fine lines under my eyes. The coverage is very good. It easily covers dark circles and blemishes. However, one thing I'm not too happy about is the greyish undertone of the concealer. Whether it due to this shade in particular or the formula itself, I look grey wearing this and that doesn't fit in with the fresh and healthy look I'm going for.

The foundation is also very light, but it has a runnier consistancy. Because it's so light, it's easily buildable. You can go from light, everyday make-up to a heavy, night out full coverage.  The pump-system of the bottle is very hygenic and one pump is enough for your entire face, depending on the method you're using. With a Beautyblender or stippling brush you'd probably need more than one pump.

Another thing I'm very content with is the colour range. It goes from a porcelain to a beautiful caramel bronze for darker ladies. My skin is pasty white and I have a great difficulty finding the right foundation in drugstores. So for a foundation line to have my pasty white shade as well as a caramel shade that exceeds from medium-light skin, is very impressive and well thought through if you ask me.

The powder is for the most part meant to go with the foundation. Therefore the powders are in the same colour range as the foundation for the perfect 'fit'. The powders can still be used on it's own for a fresh and matt look. For me, a transluscent powder would've been sufficient enough, hence the main focus of the powder is to mattify the face, but I do admid that the different shade options go very well with the concept of the Fit Me line. The powder itself isn't very special. It does what it's supposed to do: Mattify. The colour pay-off is good and the little mirror integrated is very handy.

Now for the real test: How does it look on my face? On the first picture you see my bare face *waahh*, the second is a thin layer of the foundation only and on the third I added the powder.

My wreckles have been covered quite nicely, the redness has faded as well and my dark circles got a lot less terrible than they did before. I like it! Just a quick note: I applied the foundation with a stippling brush for a natural effect.

To Sum Up: I adore the foundation. It has a buildable coverage, blends in with the skin nicely and has a wide variety of shades. The powder I don't find that special. The idea behind the perfect fit and therefore having the same colour is nice, but a transluscent powder would've done the job just fine. The powder itself just does what it's supposed to do.The concealer is nice, covers blemishes and dark circles nicely, doesn't crease too much, but it does have a greyish undertone, which can make you look a bit sick.
