Maybelline Babylips

Ususally I'm not the person to follow all the trends and hypes, but this time i decided to just  try it. Just to see if it was worth the hype I bought one of the Maybelline Babylips. These things are so popular right now and for only 1 euro I couldn't resist. I chose the "mint fresh"-one because it had SPF20 in it. If you want to know wether I think this lip balm is worth the hype or not, keep reading.

So, right of the bat, I think that these lipbalms owe their popularity to their packaging. It's cute. It is really freaking cute. The bright, neon colours attracted me when I first saw them. It's just a cute, cheap thing to have.

Since packaging isn't everything, here comes the real test: The quality. I tested the Babylips lipbalm for 5 days straight and to be honest, I dislike it. I was quite disappointed. My first impression when I put it on was that it felt dirty. It felt like I was putting thinned out sunflowerseed oil on my lips. So it felt really oily and at the same time it felt like it just wasn't doing anything good for my lips. In fact, my lips felt dry after 5 minutes, which made me re-apply the balm.
So for 5 days straight I was continuesly re-applying the balm. Quite addicting to say the least.

I'm glad that I never have to touch that weird lipbalm again. I can't tell if the other balms are the same. My friend says that the cherry one is really good, but she's applying it every 5 minutes, so I think it's exactly the same.

Everyone has different tastes in lipbalms, so in this case I suggest you to try it out yourselves.

Do you like the Babylips Lipbalms?

Love, Vivian
