Fashion Through The Ages: 2000s

Do you still know what the fashion trends from 2000-2009 were? No? Yes?  Well, today I’ll be showing you what the trends from the 2000s were.

I think you remember most of these trends. The main trends were the ugg boots, high tops, hoodies and skinny jeans. There was also the fake fur trend, which I'm not a big fan of and lastly shown is this picture is the ripped/distressed jeans trend. In the decade we live in now (2010s) we upgrated the jeans to shorts. Shorts are hot right now.

Of course there are streams of styles that were popular in the 2000s. Want to see what they were?

First we see the rockabilly trend (Rihanna's hair). I like rockabilly and I think it's sort of a unisex type of style. Also in this picture: Psychobilly. The psychobilly fashion is a mix of 1950's rockabilly and 1970s punk fashion. I need to get more familiar with this trend because I can't really seem to understand the feel of it.

Next up we have Hip-Hop style!  This style includes: High tops, Stunna shades, Baseball jackets and caps and Bling-bling. I think the hip-hip style is cool, eventhough I don't get why they want to hang 500.000 dollar worth of jewelry around their neck.  Also: Do any of these guys play baseball?

Next up we have:  Emo, Scene and Indie.  Emo trends include: checkerboard Vans, black hoodies, skinny jeans and lip piercings (and maybe even ties?). Scene trends include: chucks, Vans, cartoon print t-shirts and.... skinny jeans of course!  The difference between the two is: Emo is "sad" and Scene kids might wear about the same clothes but they colour it to match their personallity. They are naturally happy people. Or at least from what I read.
Indie trends include:  vintage and retro clothing items. Sometimes it even has Harajuku influences.

Last but not least: Moshers.  The trends include:  No Fear shirts, Liberty spikes (also mohawks) and camo cargo pants (Jay-Z is a real fashion icon in this blogpost, isn't he?). The Moshers are also called the skaters. Instead of the liberty spikes and mohawks they also have the long dreadlock hairstyle.

Now there was also a Chavs style, but that style just scares me for some reason. I don't want to offend anybody but most of these guys look like d-bags to me.

That wraps it up for 2000s fashion. I know there are more trends but I think this summed up what the main trends were. Hope you liked it :)

♥ Love, Vivian
