Random: Working In The Train

I’m writing this blog post while sitting in a train. I usually don’t do a lot of thing while sitting in a train. The things I do consist out of playing Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja and randomly texting my dad which city I’m at. Remind me that I do that in a minute. This time I wanted to do something that wouldn’t “waste” my time. So instead of doing my homework, I’m going to write this blog post about working at different places than your own home.

Usually I write blog posts at home, in my room and in front of my desk. I always look funny at people trying to work at Starbucks. There aren’t many Starbucks in the Netherlands, so everyone wants to get a coffee there. Meaning that it’s always busy. That’s not a good work environment, is it? I suppose I might try working at Starbucks at one time, but I assure you that not much good will come out of it.

Then there is working in a train. In Holland we use trains quite a lot, so it’s common that people work in the train. I must say, I don’t mind working in the train. Yes, it’s a little bit shaky and yes, I’m lucky that there are no children making annoying sound that could subtract me from what I’m doing.
I like this, just to type in a relaxed way, nothing else on my mind and every now and then I look out the window, just to see the beautiful Dutch landscapes.

Working in the library. My best friend practically lives in the library. She loves books, but more than that: She loves the rest she can get in the library. Personally, I’ve never worked in the library. Though it seems like the perfect escape for me to do my homework and finally get things done. There are less distractions in the library than at home. You can tell yourself when you want to be home and that way also when you want your homework completely finished. It seems perfect and I promise I will try it out soon.

Working at food places (including McDonalds). I know that Starbucks is a “food place” too but it’s so different that I took it as an separate place. Working at food places seems like a good idea to me, if you go between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Those are the times that it’s quiet and that you can work relaxed with a delicious cup of coffee (although the coffee at some places isn’t always that great…).  I’m quite bummed myself that I have to go to school or work at those times (blogging isn’t a real job for me yet). None the less it’s a great place.

O.. time’s up! I will continue when I get home : )

Ok  now that I’m home it’s suddenly harder to write this blog post because something called the internet is distracting me. I already decided to finish this blog post and I want to stay true to myself for once, so let’s continue.

Working at a hotel. A hotel is most of the times a place you stay at when you’re on a holiday, I think. But it’s actually a great place to work. No distractions and nothing on your mind, since you’re on a (hopefully) very relaxing vacation. Nowadays it’s pretty common that hotels have Wi-Fi that you can use.

That’s it for this blog post. I can’t really come up with more places and I think this post is long enough. As always: I hope you liked reading my blog. I think I’m going to do my homework now. O yeah, one more thing: Expect to see posts like this every other week. Since I have to travel for about 2 hours every other week to see my father :)

Do you know more places to work at? And have you tried to work at any of these places?

Love, Vivian.
