Too Much Blush?

Blush, it can brighten your complexion but it can also make you look like a clown. So I’ll try to answer the commonly asked questions : What is too much blush? And how should we apply blush in the 21st century?

Let’s start off with a little history about blush. Blush was already used in ancient Egypt. Males and females wore  blush. When I look at pictures of makeup trough time, I see that females wore a lot of red blush between the 1920s and 1940s. It started to diminish around the 1950s but came back in the 80s. Nowadays we like to keep our blush subtle and put the focus on our eyes or lips.

But still that question: What is too much blush?  I personally think that your wearing too much blush if it’s like a mask. Like I said It’s the 21st century, we mostly keep our blush subtle and natural looking.
Here is a little ‘How to:’ on applying blush.

•    Make sure you’re in a well-lit place.
•    Apply blush last.
•    Use quality brushes.
•    Start off with a little bit blush, adding is easier than removing.
•    Apply it on the apples of your cheeks and work your way back on the cheekbones.

I hope you found this little blogpost about blush helpful .

Fun Fact:  In ancient Greece they used crushed mulberries as blush.
