The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter

Body butter is an absolute must for my very dry skin. The winter may be over but my skin's still dried out. That's why I decided to add a new body butter to my very small collection. I knew it had got to be one from TBS, since those are my favourite. Together with my boyfriend, I travelled to Amsterdam and let him decide which one to get. After him debating for a while, he chose the Satsuma one. I like it a lot and I'm going to tell you exactly why.

First of all, the packaging. It's so bright and colourful, which I totally dig! For some reason I also find the packaging cute. The packaging is very clear, you can see the brand on the lid, what it is, the scent and how much is in it on the side and on the bottom is all practical information like ingredients.

Speaking of ingredients. I will break some of them down for you, so you can see exactly what's in it and why.

Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Cyclomethicone, Glycerin, Citrullus Vulgaris, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lanolin Alcohol, Fragrance, Limonene, Phenoxyethanol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Xanthan Gum, Citrus Reticulata (Satsuma) Oil, Hexyl Cinnamal, Citral, Tocopherol, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, Sodium Hydroxide, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citronellol, Geraniol, Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Red 4 (CI 14700).
  •  Shea Butter: Helping to heal cracked, aged and damaged skin. Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth.
  •  Glyceryl Stearate: Acts as a lubricant on the skin’s surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance.
  •  Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter: Temporarily protects injured or exposed skin from harmful or annoying stimuli and may provide relief to the skin.
  •   Citrus Reticulata (Satsuma) Oil: This is used for the scent, mainly.
Overall I like these ingredients, except for the Alcohol maybe.  They are moisturizing and indeed, they leave my skin feeling soft.

This body butter smells like, you quessed it, Satsuma, citrus and orange. This very fruity scent gives a summery vibe and things that smell bright like orange lift your mood. I'll definitely take this with me on my next vacation! Soft skin and summery scents, here I come!  You'll be smelling like a sweet orange all day.

At last I want to point out a thing that I sort of don't like, but not so much that it bothers me. The body butter is in a jar and that makes it a little unhygienic. This doesn't bother me that much since I know that the thick, creamy texture won't do well in squeeze bottles.

Overal:  I like this body butter a lot and I would buy it again if I ever run out.

Do you like using body butters?

♥ Love, Vivian
