Urban Decay Naked Basics

I might have been one of the last humans on this planet to not own a Naked palette, but better late than sorry. For my birthday my best friend gave me the Naked Basics palette. Which is a smaller version of the normal Naked palettes, with all the basic necessities colour-wise.

IMG_5187

The palette has a nice highlighter colour, two lighter colours for areas like the brow bone, two darker brown shades to make your eye-look deeper and a black shade to smoke it out. You are able to make quite a lot of looks with this range of colour. You can also easily take the palette with you because it is very small as you can see in the picture below.

IMG_5193

Naked Basics is way smaller than I expected it to be. It's quite a lot smaller than my phone, which is a Samsung S6 Edge. I'm somewhat afraid to lose this palette because of it's size. However it's size is also a reason for people to buy it. You can easily store it in your bag. But then again, I'd be afraid to break the shadows while they're in my bag. I guess I'm just a little baby, but I'm better safe than sorry.

IMG_5182

Before I forget to mention, the palette has a small mirror built-in which is very handy.

IMG_5201

Now for the most important part, the colour pay-off. The shades have such good quality. They are pretty intense. The black is really dark and not patchy like most black eye shadows are. The colours stay on all day for me, which is a win.

IMG_5178

As for my final verdict. I really enjoy this palette. The colour selection is great, the shades are good quality and it has a very handy size. What more could I ask for?

How To Sweat Less

Sweat. We all sweat, but some people sweat more than others. Especially during the hot summer months, sweat can be a real pain in the ass (just saying it like it is) and I can speak from my own experience when I say that. I even got surgery to reduce the amount I sweat (yes, really). So, for all of my sweaty people out there (sweaty girls and boys unite!), here are my favourite tips to stay dry.

How to sweat less in 13 tips

The inside.

Although sweat is most annoying when you can see it and you want to find ways to camouflage it as quickly as possible, it might be better to prevent sweating in the first place. Prevention is always better than healing.

1. Drink Enough Water

You might feel like drinking less water because you will sweat it all out anyway, and less liquid in your body equals less liquid to sweat out, right? Nope. Water is needed to flush out toxins. Your body wants these toxins gone and if you're not drinking enough to pee them out, your body finds another way to get rid of them by sweating.

2. Lay Off Spicy, Dairy, Salty, and Sugary Foods (or junk food in general)

I know it sounds terrible, but if you want to sweat less, this is the way to go. Spicy foods are a no-brainer, they make your insides warm/hot, which causes you to sweat. Salty and sugary foods are not very pleasant for your body, it counts them as toxins, so it has to work harder to get rid of them, and a hard working body equals more sweat. As for the dairy, most bodies find it hard to digest (lactose intolerance) which is also a trigger to sweat more.

3. Keep Your Head Cool

Stress and anxiety are huge factors when it comes to sweat. It makes your body go into overdrive, which causes sweat. To reduce that meditate or drink some camomile tea. Anything that makes you feel more relaxed will help.

4. No Caffeine (sorry)

Of course you probably want to avoid hot drinks in the first place, because those make you sweat, but drinks like Red Bull are also a no-go (the sugar in those drinks already makes your body cry). The caffeine in those drinks also stimulates the central nervous system, activating sweat glands (noooohhhh my morning coffeeee T_T).

5. Lose Weight

I don't like recommending anyone to lose weight, but the bigger you are, the more energy your body needs to keep you from overheating. So, if you can, try to manage a healthy weight.

6. Eat The Right Foods To Prevent Sweating

We discussed some foods you should avoid earlier in this post, but there are also some foods that could give aid. The foods I will mention are basically foods that help with digestion, proper body functioning and hydration. That means fruits and vegetables, foods high in calcium, foods high in vitamin B and olive oil. If you suffer from Hyperhydrosis like me, I would definitely give these a try.

The outside.

After you've tried these tips, you'll hopefully sweat less, but when you do still sweat, these following tips will help to camouflage it.

 7. Use Antiperspirant

If you're prone to sweating, you shouldn't be using a deodorant. Use a antiperspirant instead. These antiperspirants keep your armpits from sweating (it works for a lot of people, but if you have Hyperhydrosis like me, just try to see is as a way to reduce the amount of sweat). Try to look for ones that have aluminium in them and apply them throughout the day.

8. Wear The Right Materials

You probably already avoid some items from your closet because they show your sweat (like grey pieces), but did you know that the following materials are best for when you sweat a lot? Cotton is widely recommended, because it will absorb moisture. I like linen as well as it has a very loose weave which makes it a very light and cool (literal) material to wear. Also if it's your style, go atletic. The atletic wear is almost always made from materials that wick away moisture.

9. Wear layers

Now, I know what you think, layers are too hot, but bare with me. If you're wearing, say, a blouse for work and you know you are going to sweat, use a barrier piece of clothing to keep your blouse from getting wet. That way, if you sweat a lot, you have a interchangeable layer. Bring an extra shirt to your work so you can change it during the day. Dry blouse, happy you.

10. Shave/Wax

Shaving won't help with sweating less, but the sweat will no longer get trapped in the hair and make you smell like sweat), but will evaporate quicker. I prefer waxing, because the results are smoother and it lasts longer. Just pick a favourite, whatever you like.

11. Use Some Kind Of Garment Shield (Or Pad)

Because there are a tonne of people who sweat quite a bit, the market also has tonnes of products to help you hide it and reduce it. Garment shields are one of those products to save you. They are basically thin pads that you stick in your shirt where your armpit would be and it will catch the sweat (just like a pad during your period). In the past I have also used  the really thin pads, but either one works well.

12. Talk To Your Doctor

If sweat is a daily struggle for you, go talk to your doctor. There are a lot of ways to reduce the amount you sweat. Treatments with Aluminium, Botox, Electrolyte and surgery are nothing unordinary. If the sweating has an effect on your well-being or confidence, these kind of treatments can really improve your life! Ask your doctor for the possibilities.

13. Wash Yourself

If you sweat a lot, you might start to smell, which is not nice, but also, the antiperspirant will work better when applied to a clean skin. So, keep it clean. It's for the best.

How to sweat less in 13 tips

Well, I hope these tips helped you a bit. In the past I've tried the craziest things to fight the sweat, but I've found that the more standard tips like the ones above have helped me the most. Let me know if these tips were helpful to you and let me know what your favourite tips are!

A Day At The Beach

To me having fun and relaxing play a major part in my life. My weekly schedule consist of working and going to school for 6 days and a "day off". That spare day is never really a day off. There are always things that need to get done, birthdays to attend, homework to do, friends to catch up with, boyfriends that need attention. Most of these things aren't really relaxing, nor fun, so my boyfriend had the idea to go to the beach for some fresh are and a stress-free day. And let me tell you, it was the most fun I had in a long time!

[gallery ids="1239,1234" type="rectangular"]

I don't know why, but during spring time my hands always get dryer than any other time of the year. So during this beautiful time of the year I use a lot of hand lotions. Today I wanted to review two new ones I got. Vaseline's Intensive Care and Neutrogena Handcreme unscented. Let's see how much my thirsty hands like them.

7 Pink Things For Spring

Helloooo everyone! I hope I don't too enthousiastic today, but I'm just very excited for spring time! I always feel tired and dispirited during the winter time, because it's so dark outside. But yesterday was the first semi-warm and sunny day of the year and I wanted to celebrate that by showing you 7 of my favorite pink things. Pink always reminds me of spring, I don't know why. Let's get cracking!
20160313_164638

I'm starting of with a picture of my weary winter face. Even though I look tired, my lips look great, because my first pink spring thing is on them!

1. Pink Lipgloss

20160313_164728

Pink lipgloss is perfect for any time of the year, really, but I feel like spring just needs a fresh pop of colour. This cream lipgloss from L'Oréal is perfect for the job. (L'Oréal - 109 fight for it)

2. Perfume

20160313_164805

I don't know what it is with Prada's Candy, but everytime I smell this perfume I get the same 'fresh' feeling  I also get during spring time. This perfume has been my favorite for years!

3. Nails on fleek

20160313_165003

Having gorgeous nails while also supporting a good cause. This nailpolish by Lumene can give you just that. The glittery pink shade is stunning and the polish was designed to raise awareness for breast cancer.

4. Hand lotion

20160313_165014

For some reason my hands always get dryer in springtime than in wintertime. That's why I like to use a nice handlotion to keep them looking good and soft. This one by Vaseline is perfect for the job! (I haven't noticed the stronger nails thus far though)

5. Trainers

20160313_165228

Spring is also the time to get back into your training routine. So why not bust out your favorite pair of trainers and get your sweat on!

6. Sports bras

20160313_165530

Some nice sports bras belong with your fancy trainers. Looking that good, you have no excuses to have fun while exercising!

7. Clocky

20160313_165656

Even though you'll probably feel better in the spring because there's more sunlight, you probably are still going to need some motivation to get you out of bed. That's why Clocky was invented. Clocky doesn't just sound like an epileptic R2D2 when it's time to wake up. Clocky also hides from you by rolling away, so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. If that's not motivation, then I don't know what is.

I hope you enjoyed my list of pink things for spring! I would love to know what your favorite colour for spring is :)

Style Wishlist Spring 2016

Your personal style is something that changes throughout your life. When I was very young I adored bright, fun colours and colourcoded outfits (preferably all purple), when I was about 10 I started sweating heavily, no matter how the weather was or how I felt. I was always sweating. To hide the sweat I started wearing a lot of dark colours, mostly black. That "colour scheme" stayed into my life untill now. A week ago I had surgery to get rid of my excessive sweating that was affecting my life in almost every aspect. I see it as the start of  a new chapter in my life and a new chapter, to me, means a new style. I've been looking at Instagram and Pinterest inspirational pictures for weeks and I have set up a wishlist for my "new style". Enjoy!

Thigh-high Boots

[gallery ids="1096,1097" type="rectangular"]

I have a love-hate kind of relationship with my thighs. I love them because they are very strong, but sometimes I hate them because they are a bit bulky. Even so I still think that thigh high boots would make me very happy. You have to be careful not to look trashy, but if you manage to do it like the two ladies above, you'll be looking stunning!

Grey Skirts and Grey Ankle Booties

[gallery ids="1091,1094" type="rectangular"]
link 1 and link 2

I think I might be obsessed with these midi-lenght wool skirts. How sophisticated do they look?! Absolutely gorgeous. These women look very put-toghether even though they have very simple items on. And the girl on the right had me dreaming on grey ankle booties.

Lace Shorts

Shorts made out of lace look so elegant. And the way the girl aboved styled it is very sophisticated. The pair of shorts above are also the most beautiful ones I have found. I might try to DIY them if I can't find anything similar.

Mustard Top

I don't know why, but for the longest time I have had a thing for mustard coloured tops and vests, but I never got to wear them. Now is probably the time to buy them, since it is a colour for autumn. I'm hoping for great sales on mustard tops! :P

Grey

I can't tell you exactly what struck me when I saw this photo on Instagram, but I like it a lot. The coat is stunning and the skirt and croptop are cute, for some reason. Even so, this is a perfect inspirational picture for me when I go out to buy new clothes.

THIS DRESS

Vantagenews AKM GSI

I don't think I have to explain this one, because that outfit is everything! I normally don't follow Gigi or her style, but this is just an awesome outfit.

Alright, that was just a small section of the clothes that I really like at the moment. Are there certain things you're digging at the moment? Let me know!
